Building work

Applying for funding from the Trust

How are projects chosen?

The Trust welcomes proposals from local not for profit organisations, working in Asia to alleviate poverty through education, healthcare or income generation. These organisations must be local to the communities in which they are working. The Trust does not fund UK based or international charities.

The Trust favours projects that are located in areas where Monsoon Accessorize has close trading links either now or historically. This includes China, India and Afghanistan. It also has an interest in funding water-related projects that address poverty (eg water conservation, irrigation, sanitation etc.) as well as projects to support vulnerable communities affected by global warming.

The Trust typically funds projects on a three year basis.

Proposals are reviewed by the trustees at regular meetings. Specialist staff also visit projects to assess their suitability for funding.

Who decides where the money goes?

Major decisions such as funding are made by the trustees. Funding is approved for eligible projects, subject to a review of project accounts and activities

How are projects tracked?

Specialist staff visit projects on a regular basis. Projects are also required to send regular reports and updates.

Do you sponsor individuals or support other UK or international charities?

No. The Trust supports local charities in Asia, with a focus on communities where Monsoon Assessorize has trading links, either now or historically.
