Afghan Embroidery project

We supported the Turquoise Mountain Foundation in Kabul, Afghanistan for two years. Turquoise Mountain has been working in Kabul since 2006, with the aim of preserving Afghan cultural heritage whilst improving living conditions and creating economic opportunities for women. Our funding has been used to train Afghan women in traditional embroidery skills, giving them the opportunity to generate a sustainable livelihood from an age old craft.
